Cleaning the roof is pretty straightforward, just a floor mop and flash! Hopefully said tree will get pollarded next year.
But for £15 I bought a sheet of expanded aluminium sheet, cut it into 125mm strips and fitted them to the guttering. It will stop most large debris from filling the gutter and maybe high wind will blow away the rest. I got the idea from a Marley product. I looked at the plastic guards and decided they wouldn't work. The guttering has clips, bends, end caps, all obstructing a clean run. So I have cut the mesh to fit each segment. I'm sure after every winter I will have to clean the mesh, but the alternative was a gutter full of black primordial soup complete with lots of wriggling things
