consumer unit change- filling in eic deviations

When changing consumer unit to new split load type
noted during installation and testing that there is no supplementary bonding in bathroom, shower has no pull cord isolating switch , no sleeving on cpc's
would these all be noted on eic or would the work have to be carried out to bring up to standard before finalising certificate

Some of those things MUST be done before you change the CU.

Bonding must be done. See regs book. Anything that compromises safety.

Where does it say you must have an isolating switch (pullcord or otherwise) for a shower??

It is normal practice to fit one! Also, local isolation would be the major factor!

Cooker switches are fitted for the very same reason!

I know its 'normal practice' but your post refered to deviations from BS7671 to go on a cert and no isolation switch on a shower is not a deviation. Lack of an isolation switch on a cooker -specifically- is referred to in the regs and would be a deviation.

so shower doesnt need doing
but to bring up to current standards must the supplementary bonding be done in bathroom?
and sleeve cpc's everywhere
or make a note on eic that its missing

also supplementary bonding has not been done in bathroom but if tested using a low resistance ohmeter tests would indicate ok because all pipes are cross linked at combi boiler. would this suffice because tests would show ok
or must it be a visual thing as well, must you be able to see the earth bond on the central heating pipes in bathroom??

You cant just put it on the EIC. Go and read your regs 130-07-01 relates specifically to ensuring that earthing 7 bonding requirments are adequate. You cant mark it as a deviation.

Also this applies to supp bonding. Measured resistance between all extraneous conductive parts in a bathroom should be no more than 0.05ohms and this includes the cpc of any other power or lighting services in the bathroom. Just because you can see the pipes are bonded in the airing cupboard isnt enough.

You didnt mention size of main bonding conductors. Are these up to correct sizes?

All this stuff is Category 1 deviations and must be sorted before CU change.
I would classify no sleeving on cpc as Category 2 (requires improvement)

yes main bonding is all up to scratch

and supplementary bonding is below 0.05 ohms but there is no supplementary bonding directly to rads and taps in bathroom.
I suspect reading is ok because boiler is directly below bathroom so within metre/couple of metres and is all cross bonded..
is this sufficient
