Copper bar is it from consumer unit - advice sort

Do I just need to change the fuse?

Or do I need to change the fuse and replace the old busbar to the left ensuring the the two seperate section do not meet.

Also if I have to remove the bottom (make do) busbar do I remove only this as I can see a large red wire in the background.

Sorry

Have answered this question myself.

The Busbar and the MCB are the only things that need changing as the Red wire is not connected to the busbar as first thought.

Keep advice coming cheers all and esp. John.

I think you want to fit a correct MEM MCB.

You can fit fit the correct original Busbar. Take out the makeshift Busbar first. The large red thing is probably a solid copper conductor, not a wire, and it will run from the bottom (switched) "Load" red terminal of the Main Switch to the top ("Line") red terminal of the RCD. There will be a black one as well that you may not have spotted yet, that goes from the switched Neutral ofthe main switch to the Supply Neutral of the RCD.

John,

Does it matter which way round the busbar goes?

Holes in the plastic grip (on the left) ?

or holes on the right and fitted within the MCB?

Cheers

I've just had a look at one, the holes are in the LHS but aren't used for anything. I have an idea they can be used for terminals in a differnt kind of configuration.
