If anyone is still interested, particularly Softus as I was trying to find some details earlier, I have now found these from the RLA:

It looks like the landlord didn't have Gas Safety Certificates and hadn't been keeping or doing checks. I haven't found the outcome yet but Magistrates I think can only give up to 6 months jail sentence, so presumably they thought he deserved more.

To add the context to it:

Why the "limp wristed" qualifier all the time?

What does it mean? What does it signify?

Do you do it because you realise that "liberal" on its own is actually a term of praise, and you are actually searching for an insult?

I'll tell you something about racists.

In every political and economic etc debate there are conflicting opinions, and some people are in vehement, even violent, opposition to others.

But by and large, most will proclaim their allegiance when defending their position. Communists will say that they are communists, and this is why. The same goes for socialists, conservatives, fascists etc.

People in the pro/anti EC debate will say what they are, and why it's right.

Capitalists will say that they are capitalists.

The list goes on and on.

But how many racists stand up and say "I'm a racist and proud of it"?
