No it doesnt matter, tests have been recently carried out on whether or not wine is better when left to 'breathe' and the conclusion is that its all a load of hogwash!.
screwtops have to be the best on picnics, cork corks are best at dinner parties so you can show off the new electric corkscrew! and plastic corks have no place at all

Ok BAN you win, it does matter for environmental and social reasons, but not for wine drinkability reasons
Also cork cork is a renewable resource, as it is harvested and grows back, therefore perhaps we should ask for more than just wine to have traditional corks? It's also very nice to hear a cork pulled, an audio signal for the taste buds to get started

I thought that was what kids drink to get drunk in as short a time as possible I'm told its nasty coming back up

I've noticed a lot of the New Zealand wines come with screw top, I like them but not the same when friends come round for dinner and the cork gets a nice sound.
