cork snobbery

That's why I love this forum. Two glasses of wine, and everyones running round having sex with animals. :LOL:

This has always baffled me. The idea (as I understand it) is that the bottle is laid on its side so that the wine stays in contact with the cork. This prevents it (cork) from drying out and shrinking.

Not so much of a problem with plastic or screw-top.
