Gents, some advice needed ASAP.
I own an 1800's terraced cottage, I have removed the old pebbledashed/roughcast cement render which had blown and I wish to replace it with a smooth lime cement render.
I have removed the old but the renderer has recommended the use of plastic beads which I would have thought would have ruined the "old" look of the house. I am the end house in 3 and they all retain the pebbledashed look with slightly rounded edges
Your thoughts on this please?

You can form the corners, bellcasts etc without using beads.

As Alastair says, form the corners using battens. It'll keep the original look to the render/roughcast.The renderer is telling you to use plastic beading because he probably doesn't know how to form corners any other way.

Thanks for the reply guys,

Guess the next question would be anyone able to do this type of work in the Derby area?
