Covid passport

The reason the downloaded copies of the passport have dates on them is to manage issues like the new need for boosters.

Without an expiration date that'd be awkward to manage, with a simple expiry date it is easily handled.

I don't think we're getting English as a Foreign languages' point.

What else qualifies a person to get one?

It's easily found in seconds....

For domestic purposes, those 18 and over can obtain an NHS COVID Pass:

  • two weeks after completing a full course of vaccination, whether that requires two doses or one dose - after two doses of the Moderna, AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccines, or after one dose of the Janssen vaccine
  • with evidence of a negative PCR or rapid lateral flow test taken within 48 hours of entry to a venue, with both at-home and on-site (where available) being accepted - a lateral flow test taken at home will need to be reported into the public reporting system
  • if exempt on the basis of an approved medical exemption or participation in a formally approved COVID-19 clinical trial

"Those aged 18 or above will need to have proof that they are either:

  • fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with an approved vaccine
  • exempt, on the basis of a medical exemption or clinical trial participation
  • have tested negative using a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or lateral flow test (LFT) within the last 48 hours
In an effort to minimise the transmission of COVID-19 within England, the UK government recommends the voluntary use of the NHS COVID Pass in venues where large crowds of people from multiple households mix for a sustained period of time. This is a safety measure to protect customers and workforces (including volunteers)."

If you are relying on a recent test, your proof lasts 48 hours from your clean test. Not 30 days.

Anybody who is not an antivaxxer will have a pass issued on the basis of their vaccination status.

See above

In general they are 30 days if you have been vaccinated and is the case for the OP, which is where the discussion started.

You then started banging on about vaccines expiring and I pointed out that you don't even need to be vaccinated to get a pass.

Then you compare an early post with a later one and get excited because you think you found some inconsistencies. Well done you.

Reporting test results
You should report your test result, positive or negative, to have proof that you have completed it, to NHS Test and Trace.

You should report a rapid lateral flow test result online or by calling 119.

You will then receive a text or email which you should display to the person checking that you have completed your test. A valid notification of your test result from NHS Test and Trace should include:

  1. your name

  2. your age or date of birth

  3. the date the test sample was collected or received by the test provider

  4. confirmation that the test was either a PCR test or a rapid lateral flow test

  5. confirmation that the test result was negative
If you reported a negative result you will also receive access to the NHS COVID Pass. This will expire 48 hours after the time you took the test. You cannot report privately provided tests and must only use tests ordered from NHS Test and Trace.
