1930s terrace, all walls in bedroom had gloss paint in good condition
Covered with blue grit and skimmed with multifinish
Did this in my spare time so took a few months to get around all the walls
Now getting hairline cracks showing up after I've mist coated and want to know if I've done something wrong.
Two pics attached of the worst corner before and after raking
One crack that spans three walls which were plastered months apart, looks like settlement but the old skim done decades ago had no cracks so would be surprising for it to start now
You can also see cracks from each corner of the new socket outlets
The area around the crack doesn't sound hollow at all and plaster was on solid when raking
Window was often left open to ventilate and the room has no rad at the moment so temp has been as low as 5 celcius
Wondering if
1) this is something wrong with the work or just par for the course
2) how long to wait for the rest of the cracks to show before painting
3) any way to prevent this in the future
