Hoping someone could advise on if I need to worry about this or not.

My lounge ceiling and wall have hairline cracks in. One extends from the ceiling through the coving and down the wall a little.

The other is more obvious and across a large part of the ceiling, under the centre light and a bit the other side.

There is also a third that extends from the corner of the doorframe, upwards.

They aren't connected as cracks, all starting and ending in different places.

There is also a damp issue on this wall. Could this be causing it?

We had renovation works finish in the room above it about 4 months ago, with lots of work smashing out and rebuilding wardrobes.

Thank you so much for any help!

Old lath and plaster?

Crack to the corner of door is a common spot.
Rake out. Seal. Fill.

Ceiling is a bit more tricky. You have to vacuum off dust on the other side which will probably require lifting floorboards. PVA. Pour plaster over laths.
This will make it solid so then rake out crack and fill..

OP,
You've not mentioned plaster laths - so dont go lifting floorboards.
Neither have you mentioned what materials have been used or installed on the walls - so dont go raking out anything.
Dealing with the cracks should be pretty simple.
But unless you supply more information, then why not just observe over time for any changes in the cracks?

Based on your post info & pics there's no need to worry - so why not simply monitor the existing cracks, & look for any possible future cracks inside or outside the house?
Any changes then come back. Come back in 12 months anyway.

Thank you so much for your replies. Will certainly keep an eye on them. I keep spotting more around the room now. Very likely it’s an old lath and plaster ceiling. No other cracks appearing in rest of the house, only this room. Found another which I may have missed before which spans several feet of the ceiling then descends through the coving and down the wall.

Will monitor for now, knowing nothing (by the sounds of it) is about to fall down.

Appreciate it
