Crazy forum software behaviour?

A little while back I had a PM exchange with another member and in the message invited:
Again I invite Mods to to comment on this and correct me if I'm overstepping the line. I will not be holding my breath for their answer.
I then sent a message to Mods to invite them to read my PM and comment.
I can't find the reply but they stated PM's are private and they have no access to them.

In this case it was purely down to the number of times the character was used. Upper case and lower case were not individually the issue. Without too much detail, if various words / characters from certain character sets are used in sufficient frequency then that among other things can trip a post into the moderation queue. That character set (Greek) has been removed from the pre-check and so it shouldn't be an issue going forward. The rules and checks were the same for posts / pms / profile posts etc so they all would've triggered the moderation queue and equally should also be ok now. Apologies for the inconvenience, any further problems please let me know.

That is correct, only admin (myself) has access to PM's, not the moderators. The moderation queue only shows relevant items that the mod/admin have permission to view, so private message moderation queue items don't show up for moderators.

Thank you for the clarification and the effort your team put in to keeping it running.

Fair enough - but, as you will realise, using a symbol for "ohms" five times in a post in this Electrics forum must be far from unusual.
Upper case and lower case were not individually the issue.
I don't think it could be. Although it actually might be useful in some electrical discussions, DIYnot does not appear to offer a lower-case Greek omega!

Thanks. I imagine that should solve the problem.

The checks may be the same, but the actions consequent upon those checks seemingly weren't. As I demonstrated above, multiple omega symbols in a forum post does, indeed, get it into the moderation queue. However, when I met the problem with a PM, it didn't (as far as I am aware) go into any moderation queue - not even one only visible to admin. Unless I misunderstood, the software was simply refusing to 'send' my PM because of the multiple omegas.

These things happen, particularly with software. Thanks for your rapid attention to the matter!

Kind Regards, John
