Are you determined not to fix into the wall?
Well, it's sort of news to me that it wasn't.
I guess I'd need a screw of about 7cm to ensure it both sits in the board and starts to go in to whatever starts about 5cm behind.
 
Also, I suspect that my hole is wide enough that there'd be nothing to anchor those front-side teeth into.
TBH rather than trying to stick another fixing into an existing hole you will be much better off starting with a new hole in a slightly different place - and that applies to any other type of fixing.
