Well i used the Bosch PMF180 to trim off the majority. It was fine, no risk of splitting etc.
However there are parts of it that needs al ittle extra taking off, so i'm off to screwfix today to get one of these.

I'll only really need it for this or very small jobs, it has good reviews and its cheap.
