Hi,

I am installing wallpaper this weekend but I’ve seen some screws are protruding through into the wall from the middle of the stud wall

I obviously want to take off the end of the screw and flatten these with the wall so that the wallpaper will sit flush…. Is there a method I can do this apart from trying to use a hack saw blade (and messing up my wall in the process )

A flap wheel in an angle grinder maybe - great care needed to prevent excess scuffing of the surface.
A sanding sheet in a multi tool could also work.
I guess you can’t access the screw heads?

If you cut the head off, screw in a new screw a few inches up or down to retain the strength of the adhesion to the wood behind them.

Sanding a hardened screw tip or head with a sanding pad on a oscillating saw will probably just ruin the sanding pad. That said, a belt sander will suffice, but the OP risks messing up the belt.

As per your later post, it would help if the OP could provide more info.

Personally, I would be tempted to use a diamond blade on an angle grinder.

A Dremel would cause a lot less collateral damage than an angle grinder
