Hi

I am planning on cutting up some sandstone lintels and use them as steps.
I was hoping to attempt to cut some flag type steps about 30mm or so.
I have a bolster chisel and hammer etc but also have a stihl stone cutting saw with diamond blade.
Is the stihl the way to go?

20200614_194640.jpg I was wondering if I did this should I try and make a cutting jig ( not sure how much I trust my steady hand!)
I have a few different sizes. I was going use brick risers and have these as treads.

I’d cut them with the saw from each side. Do them as thick as you can otherwise they could crack at 30mm.

Yeah will do. I think I will chalk outline the slab first all the way around. So maybe go for about 100mm thick?
You think Stihl saw better than bolster and hammer?

It would be for me, if I tried with the bolster it wouldn’t split how I want it. I just built some stone steps and ended up with the grinder.
