Will this cause any trouble for using the mattress, I mean apart from the way it looks? . Pocket spring/memory foam combi. I got it cheap and damaged it when transporting it

Put a cover over it and it will be fine.

If you feel like it you can use some thick cotton and sew the holes up.

as above or maybe a mattress topper and fitted sheet
the only trouble with damage just under a sheet is a foot or leg can work its way into the lip or pocket it now forms and in a very short time it's toast, whereas a topper will present enough resistance or a thick enough layer to stop the damage ever becoming a point off resistance

If its for personal use then should work with a mattress topper, damaged part at head end to stop feet mucking it up.

Blup

Can it be flipped over so the damage is underneath?
The small rip is underneath, it's more if there's any structural damage e.g springs come out. But rip in side but a sheet can cover, not worried about aesthetics

Think it's cosmetic. Guy in shop said the springs are encased so won't pop out. So not too worried anymore. Never been one for aesthetics so not too worried anymore
