Just refreshing one of the bedrooms

I live in a 1902 2 up 2 down terraced

In the corner of the external walls the paint is still wet to touch (24hrs later), also a bit next to window inside the window reveal

I know it’s obviously a cold wall

Would painting it with damp proof paint before finishing it be a solution?

I don’t want to have to re do all plastering

Cheers

find out why the damp is occurring

send a picture it could be cold bridging due to a lack of insulation or high humidity.

Is the room well ventilated? Do the windows have trickle vents?

That looks like condensation. You need to reduce humidity and invest in a dehumidifier.

Have you got a humidity meter?

I have the window open but I do dry clothes in there (with window open a jar).

The radiator has only just been replaced as it’s not been heating up correctly

I have a dehumidifier, I shall put it on and see what happens
Cheers for help

Don't put any paint or damp seal or anything on top of it till it's dry ....

I assume it's water based emulsion

Get the radiator on for a few hours

It should cure in a day

As said its OK to dry clothes indoors sometimes ....we have no choice in the UK really .....but u must use a combination of heat , window ventilation and a dehumidifier from time to time as at this time of year moisture has to have a helping hand to go away .and in some colder rooms it will stick around till the spring

Painting in damp rooms will soon show it up
