My Summerhouse is Tongued and grooved
For the past 3 years I have applied 3 coats Ronseal Fencelife plus in Cornflower
The inside I have treated the knots and again every year I apply 4 coats white emulsion
Every year damp comes through
Is there anything I can apply on the outside over the multicoats Ronseal fencelife plus
or
The inside to stop dampness getting through
Thanks

I don't know if I have the answers but what material is the tongue and groove made from?

The short answer is: not really.

Single skin timber clad buildings aren’t really built correctly, proper frame construction is a timber frame structure covered in a breathable membrane, then battens are fitted on, then the timber cladding. That creates a cavity so any water ingress gets out.

Log cabin style construction tends to trap water, ship lap and feather edge boarding is better.

Could bitumen be used as a last resort if you don't want to tear down the structure or reconfigure it to the spec above?

*bitumen paint

Is the building sat on a concrete base? did this base have a DPM?

You say the walls are wet. Do you mean at the bottom, or generally?

Inside or out?

Is the T&G vertical or horizontal?

The gutters and downpipes should be throwing the rain off. Please post photos of them and the wet patches.

It is all of the walls.
Downpipes clear

Stand back and take a wider pic of the whole wall please. Right up to the gutters. I'm hoping to see a pattern of damp marks

I'm wondering if it's water coming through the grooves, or more condensation happening there because the gaps aren't completely air-tight so they're cooler?
