It's plumb crazy. A plumb is a measure of straightness, so absolutely straight, absolutely crazy.

It was once considered that eating fresh fruite would nullify the effects of lead poisoning. So maybe plum crazy and plumb crazy are both correct.

And yes a plumb bob was used to get an accurate vertical. Or am I just plumbing the depths......

Could explain your behaviour at times. Start wearing gloves kid.
