I’ve got a couple of brad nails in my skirting that bent or don’t go in fully. I’ve tried the centre punch approach but they are too fine to get anything positioned over them. It keeps slipping. I also tried pulling them out with a pair of pliers and there isn’t enough to grip on to.

How do you deal with misfired nails from the nailer?

If you don't mind damaging the skirting a bit, you could try a tack lifter.

4" to 6"wire nail hammer the nail point flat /cut off /grind flat then use as a punch
punch nail in or----

--as said above pointed [long nose]pliers punch each side off the head to get a grip and pull

if the nail is bent and you need it sunken knock it sideways along the grain with a punch assuming softwood and not mdf where you will never bury a nail in the dense structure as it doesn't have soft grain

Show us a picture?

Thinking just put a flap wheel in the grinder and tickle it flat, paint over
