Indeed so Dave, I have a plug socket and its done well for the three cars I've recently changed plugs.
I found a local 2nd shop that does garage clearances and I've picked up a lot of good kit recently.
With the Primera 1.8 engine, the plug is at the bottom of a deep hole that acts as a guide so you can't really cross the thread.
When putting the new plugs in, twist the plug in with your fingers on the socket extension bar. A few turns and you know its not cross threaded.
If you putting old plugs back in, clean any carbon of the threads. A clean thread is much easier. (just my experience)
