Having built my last staircase from a flat pack ordered on line, i would like to try my hand at building from scratch, especially as i would like the stingers and balustrades to be oak rather than basci cheap pine. I want to build a U shape staircase with half landing. This is effectively 2 small staircases fitted to a mid platform.
Does anyone have any drawings that i can adapt eg for the stringers, how they integrate with newel posts etc.
Also anyone know any sources of some good oak in the southampton area.
