You can logon to router to reconfigure it. First of all connect your computer to the router. Turn on router. On the router you will find some information as follows:

ip address: For example 192.168.1.1 (may be different for your router)
username: For example admin
password: For example password

They are normally written on the router. You will definitely need these three information. There are ways to find these information if you can't find them. For example by ressting the router and then referring to the manual of the router for default user name and password. You can download a manual of the router from manufacturer's website.

Now start internet explorer or any other browser. Type the ip address of the router in the address bar. For example type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.

It will prompt you for username and password. Once you enter the username and password you will see a lot of settings. Go through it. All settings are self explanatory. Only thing that you will need to change is the username and password.

Ask AOL for new settings. Like username, password, etc.
Once you enter the correct settings save the settings.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help I know that part but what i'm saying is the 834gsp is locked to virgin and not AOL I need to unlock it, If there is a way

If it's a Netgear router, how is it locked to one provider?? Login details are
Username :- virgin

Password :- password

Unless someone has set up their own username/password for the router, in which case it's a total stab in the dark.

You should be able to change all settings on the router once logged on via routerlogin.com

Maybe it's like the Sky Netgear router I had, where the connection details aren't accessible to the user. Standard Netgear router but with bespoke Sky firmware. I did some Googling and found a firmware hack that gave access to the login details (so that you could lift them from the Sky router and use your own if it was better). Maybe the same is needed here?

Thanks guys yes i have password ect but its still not configuring so i guessed it was locked like a mobile phone is, will try to setup on another computer see how i go ... many thanks
