I have just bought a pair of new 2 Gang 2 Way light switches and instead on the three connections being marked L1, L2 and Com they are marked L1, L2 and L3. What is the difference?

Thanks

L1 . . . . COM
L2 . . . . L1
L3 . . . . L2
Its just manufacturers way of confusing DIYers even more when they've just grasped how a lighting circuit is wired!

If in doubt always remember the terminals on a switch are arranged in a triangle (or they used to be, some still are!!!) The top terminal on the tri is always COM.

I take it you haven't used those cheap and nasty switches with the com and L1 at the same end :p

I've used MK's new switches. Yuck. The switch module is tiny, I cant see how it can be rated to 10 amps.
