Dining room bulbs keep taking out the main 5a fuse

Are the lamp bulbs connected to a dimmer by any chance??, often an unsuitable bulb and dimmer combination will blow the fuse, as when the dimmer is operated something shorts out and trips the breaker etc. It is a hit and miss game trying to effectively match dimmer and lamp bulb anyway.
