Anyone got anything I can try to unblock a mains feed?. Basically guy drained hot water by turning off stopvalve and running down hot water, but now he has opened it back up there is no water at the storage tank ball valve inlet, but all cold taps running fine. Storage tank completely empty.

Presumably there is no valve of any sort between the branches to the cold taps and the float valve inlet - that would be too obvious. So something is blocking the pipe - can't be air since it's mains pressure, so must be some debris. All I can suggest is cutting into the pipe at various intermediate points to narrow down location of blockage, or rigging up a temporary connection from tap to float valve inlet to force mains pressure back in opposite direction.
