Disabling hot water secondary circulation

Manufacturers data sheets mainly. Not sure why, placcie is Ok for heating pipework so can obviously survive long periods at high temperatures....

Yes, it's not ideal is it?! Other taps aren't nearly as bad though. First step is to insulate the pipes to see what difference that makes and then I'll look at better control options as suggested. The insulation is going to be easy enough in the loft but not quite sure beyond that.

A PIR in every room where there is an hot tap, triggering the circulation pump is a good idea. Combine those, with a thermostat at the hot water return pipe, to turn the pump off when the return is hot and you have a really good compromise.

You could maybe add a second thermostat, on the hot water cylinder, which closes when hot, to inhibit the pump when there was no hot water available in the tank.
