Hi people i wasnt sure whether this should go in plumbing or appliances but well here it goes.

As we had central heating put in there might be space for a dishwasher in our kitchen :D but as always there is some issues.

where i want to put the dishwasher is opposite the washing machine shown in the pictue link below where the tumble dryer currently is

The problem is running the water and waste from behind the washing machine to where the dishwasher would go.

I pulled the washing machine out to show the current plumbing set up

What i thought so far was that i could get a plumber in to extend the cold water line roughly 3 meters so it would be next to where the dishwasher would go. Does anyone know how much this would cost roughly? The only concern i had about this is that the pipe would have to be on the wall next to the washing machine and i wondered if the gap between the wall and the washing machine would be big enough to run the pipe, the gap is in the picture link below

For the waste pipe i wasnt sure what could be done about extending that, the only idea i had was to get a drain hose extension and attach a self cutting waste to the grey waste pipe in the second picture just before it goes into the wall. Any other solutions would be very much appreciated

cheers in advance if you can help

Re cost of plumber, you wont get much help on that.
Its about how long the job will take, when we can see the picts maybe you will get a ball park figrue.
If you do DIY its not that much of a job.
Can you do plumbing?

The pictures should be workin now. I think i would be okay putting in the waster pipe but the water pipe im not sure how to do

The easy bit, is putting in the supply, You could T off from the washing machine.
If you can turn the watere off before it gets to the washing machine outlet, then all you do is, turn off supply, put in a T & run new copper pipe round the wall to where you want it. You can use compresion joints & fit tap connector at the end the same as for the washing machine, clip the pipe to the wall & it would be best to drop the pipe lower to the floor.
The problem is getting your waste away. You need to make a standpipe & have a fall on it to reach the waste that is used by the washing machine, again the plumbing is easy, its making sure you have a fall for the waste.
Where is the washing machine waste? is it on the left looking at the front of the washer

So you will need to connect into the grey pipe, does this go to an open drain outside.
It may be easier to put another hole through the wall.

So you will have to join it to the pipe from the sink, you will have problems with the sink water running back to the dishwasher.
It might be worth getting a plumber in to quote you & get some ideas.

not if you tee it of the sink waste properly you won't.

I was thinking that by the time it is fitted into an open pipe at 3ft high, then falls round to meet the sink waste it will be low & therefore when the sink emptys the waste will flow out through the wall (as intended) & also back up the pipe to the dishwasher, whilst it wont get into the dishwasher, it will then drain back through the wall, so yea it would work.

don't fit a standpipe then fit a w/m drain kit. then it won't go lower than sink waste

When you say a w/m drain kit do you mean one of the self cutting wastes, i was thinking of this but i wasnt sure the drain pump on the dishwasher would be able to pump the water all the way, approximately 3-3.5 meters to the drain. I know that a stand pipe would be ideal but im not sure if the pipe would fit the gap between the washing machine and the wall, would 32mm be okay to use considering it would only be for a dishwasher? i think that would fit. If it did would i tie it in with the grey pipe before it goes though the wall to the soil stack by cutting the pipe and connecting an a t piece that would lead round to the standpipe?

i always use the drain kits can't stand them standpipes as they are open and they stink.
i would stick to 40mm
looking at pic i would say 40mm will fit down there ok.
because a drain kit does not have a trap you must fit a trap i useally fit what they call a running trap.

So when you say drain kit you mean the self cutting outlets? So you mean extending the pipework and then attaching a self cutting drain if i understand right? sorry for my lack of knowledge but what is a running trap?

Ive been doin some research and i think ive gt it. i hope lol

So if i put a t adaptor in the grey pipe then the running trap, shown in the picture link http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh244/Ant18_02/100_0041withwriting.jpg

Then run the pipe along the wall, shown in the picture link http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh244/Ant18_02/100_0046withwriting.jpg

Is this the right idea? A couple of things im not sure of if it is correct what gradient would i need on the pipe? And at the end where i would put in the dishwasher hose would it be like i have drawn it in the picture with the hose just placed in, would that be okay?

Cheers
