Dishwasher steam leak?

We have a Bosch dishwasher which seems to be emitting steam or condensation from the top. It's delaminating our door units.

I've taken out the door seal (3/4 of the door rubber thing) and cleaned thoroughly and it seems in good condition. Does anyone know what could the cause and preferably the fix?

The Rubber Seals around the door will (should) stop water and steam escape. Check they are clean and the door face that mates to the seal. Replace seals if damaged. Smear a little silicone grease on the seals if they seem OK? Test for closing tightness with a piece of paper or thin plastic strip?

Opening door (ajar) when wash just finished allows a lot of steam escape. Don't do it. Leave for many hours to cool down.

Some dishwashers spring door ajar to cool at end of cycle. (Daft idea imho). Dunno if that can be disabled in a menu setting?

Bosch/Neff/Siemens supply metal deflector piece for fixing to underside of worktop specifically to help with this problem. Something similar might have helped from new but too late now, looking at that damage to those door panels.

My old cupboard adjacent to my built in dishwasher has the veneer lifting on the top left hand side that is exposed (same as yours). I've reglued and applied some furniture wax to help seal against the moisture, but they are 16 years old and we are the second owners so the damage was already done before me. The doors have not been affected but they have stainless steel handles rather than your style. Dishwasher has been replaced (the old one's baskets were rusty).

Should not be opening until DW completes drying cycle and is cold.
Clean all seals and ensure door closes completely .
My Bosch has a red indicator light which shines on floor in use and goes out when it’s ok to open door, along with a single “ beep”.

My Neff has a display projected on the floor showing where it is in the cycle and time to run.

It's unwise to open when it's finished and that display goes off.

In my experience it is still hot and steamy for some (many) hours after that happens. The dishes stay warm for a long time as it's pretty well insulated.

Generally I run the machine, with the final loading after dinner, at night and unload while making the morning cuppa. The exception is today when it went on about 11:00 and I'm leaving it until dinnertime to unload (unless my better half opens it sooner).

YMMV.

It looks to be integrated could the swelling of the matching door be preventing a proper seal. I have the same dishwasher without any problems. The door opening at the end of the cycle aids drying but is disabled by default unless selected as part of the wash cycle.

After a dry cycle my Bosch is moisture free , dries the interior completely, no steam.
Really?
Which model?
What cycle do you use?

Mine has water in the spinners and filter system plus the (disabled) salt dispenser. It's why I always pull the bottom tray out first so as to not drip water on the lower dishes (and cutlery rack which always has some water retained on its bottom).

Same has happened on all the Bosch/Neff/Siemens dishwashers I've owned since the late 80s to date. Even the same on the Indesit we once got given when a Bosch gave up the ghost.

The latest Neff may have a better cycle than the usual one I use, so I'd love to get proper dry inside on a cycle (but may need to energy monitor the different modes, for comparison).
