Dishwasher steam leak?

We have a Bosch dishwasher which seems to be emitting steam or condensation from the top. It's delaminating our door units.

I've taken out the door seal (3/4 of the door rubber thing) and cleaned thoroughly and it seems in good condition. Does anyone know what could the cause and preferably the fix?

The Rubber Seals around the door will (should) stop water and steam escape. Check they are clean and the door face that mates to the seal. Replace seals if damaged. Smear a little silicone grease on the seals if they seem OK? Test for closing tightness with a piece of paper or thin plastic strip?

Opening door (ajar) when wash just finished allows a lot of steam escape. Don't do it. Leave for many hours to cool down.

Some dishwashers spring door ajar to cool at end of cycle. (Daft idea imho). Dunno if that can be disabled in a menu setting?

Bosch/Neff/Siemens supply metal deflector piece for fixing to underside of worktop specifically to help with this problem. Something similar might have helped from new but too late now, looking at that damage to those door panels.

My old cupboard adjacent to my built in dishwasher has the veneer lifting on the top left hand side that is exposed (same as yours). I've reglued and applied some furniture wax to help seal against the moisture, but they are 16 years old and we are the second owners so the damage was already done before me. The doors have not been affected but they have stainless steel handles rather than your style. Dishwasher has been replaced (the old one's baskets were rusty).
