You do have to contact the customers supplier for any work to do with the meter.

One reason for this is because people can now go with any supplier in any area, it might not be scottish power who are the suppliers.

For instance in our area (Manweb/energy networks) if the cust has their electric with British gas it would be Morrisson utilities who come to fit the Isolator or replace the meter not Scottish power.

That'll be why they told you to contact the supplier.

Rang my supplier today (British Gas) and they said they will fit an iso but they want £40.
 
Sounds bout right.
