Does anyone know anything about watch batteries

I coveted a gmt 44 for a few years (still do, really), but kept the money in the bank instead.
Got a citizen eco-drive until I take the plunge which needs no batteries, is totally swim proof, does all the perpetual calendar stuff, and cost not a silly amount.

Don't wear a watch.

Always had the time in the car/van and
also now on my phone.

Phone cost £7.50.

I got this Speedmaster ‘57 for my birthday last week. I’m not telling you how old I was.

@harlow

Apologies for jumping on your thread and not actually answering your question.

The 395 and the 395/399 are the same battery and both will fit a 395 (or equivalents) . The 395, however, will not be any good in a 399 (or equivalents) though as they tend to have a higher current draw.

So if you have a 395 in already then you can replace with either. If it were a 399 in then you would need the other one.

The shop was probably going to find the specific battery for it (there's about 20 odd different numbers it can replace) and charge you more.

Out of interest do you know what watch it is and I may be able to help you a bit further.

For interests sake the battery you need is 2.6mm x 9.5mm and 1.55v

I always ask for a price match when I buy anything in the pound store.

No, not for a penny, but yes for the principle.

And I suppose you've got to, to be able to afford the Speedmaster haven't you.

My Casio is a digital watch, damned accurate, and has a solar panel at the top, and I haven't changed the battery in 6 years, and I expect the watch will get replaced (with another of the same make) before it needs a new one. But I'll try and get a radio time stamp next time - getting lazy in my old age.

Me neither. Not a big fan of sparkly adornment.
However if hairy chests do come back into fashion, I may be tempted to buy a medallion and remove the top three buttons on my shirt.
But then people wouldn't notice your overpriced sunglasses, nor your sweatshop jeans with the £200 label on them (y)
