Does anyone know what this floor could be? Dark red/brown solid floor in Victorian house

Hi, my house was built around 1880. Its a victorian semi with mostly suspended timber floors. After taking up the old carpet I’ve found that this solid floor, which was probably put in to replace the timbers at some stage. This floor is also present in the kitchen, with a vinyl sheet on top. Has anbody seen this type of floor before or know what it could be?
