Dog bites man

I once spent an enjoyable hour chatting with a police dog handler who had two dogs in the back of his van, when he was called out to my house when a group of 3 lads tried to break my patio door with a football.

The copper named Tony had a GSD and a springer spaniel in the back of his van, the GSD had bitten him twice both times on a shout and both requiring stitches, the tale of the one in the groin had me rolling around on the floor almost crying with laughter. So he didn't want to this dog out as it tended to get very nasty very quickly and bit anything that was in front of it. Apparently though when it was off duty at home it was a bit of a pussy cat but once in the van it was all business.

The Springer Spaniel was a drug dog and apparently a bit of a nasty sod, he told me that it would bite him when he was getting it out of the van for no reason and sometimes when excited during a search it would nip anyone close enough and quiet often Tony the handler.

He showed me his hands and they were coverd in scares but he said he would never change his job as he loved it so much and loved the dogs too.

The dogs are highly trained and quiet often get taken away with the situation, but as my old mum used to say if you do nothing wrong you have nothing to fear!!!!

unless your a week old baby and your grandma's jack russel decides your getting too much attention!

Or if your like my old friend who had his dog Jasper for 7 years before one day out of the blue Jasper decided to knor on my mates face and scarred him for life and left him needing a skin graft.

You digress. Let's get back to the subject in hand. A suspected criminal caught breaking into a car, is subsequently bitten by a trained police dog (doing exactly what it's trained to do) when he decides to try and escape. Whoever decided this scum, was entitled to compensation in the first place, needs his/her brain examining. (probably some "Justice xxxxxx" who's been a judge for many years past his retirement age)

A long time ago, there used to be a TV advert that ended with the words, "Crime doesn't pay".

Things are different today, of course!

Remember Shaw Taylor of "keep them peeled" fame? :)
