Don't bother using nylon wall plugs with aerated blocks?

But plastic plugs melt in a fire, so thought we have to use metal ones now? At least inside a building where the cables etc they hold into place can fall off and get entangled in a fire fighters BA equipment.
AFAIK the requirement is specifically for wiring, not (at present) structural or semi-structural items such as stud walls (although, for example, MF track is already generally fixed with concrete nails and washers where the substrate is suitable, such as concrete, screed and blockwork)

I have yet to see anything published on other fixings and fastenings which are to used for door frames, etc

It will be interesting to see what changes are made to the building regs in due course

I don't see what is wrong with using the plugs actually designed for the material

There are people out there that don't blow the holes out properly?

Also,

Ref! a low punch!
As soon as a screw hits the dowel it expands and creates a weak crumbling hole, thermalite does not accept expanding fixings. It’s like fixing to huge plasterboard ,has to be threaded or bolted right thru.
