Hello all,

My door is quite stiff to shut and I have identified the problem as the threshold (if thats the right word!) not being level and higher to the left.

This appears to be in 2 parts, first a metal bit fixed to down and then a black plastic bit on top. It looks like theres some screws or bolts under the plastic bit to adjust it, but I cant get the plastic bit off!

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Thanks

a picture would be good in this case, however if your door shut before it could be loose on the top hinge, check the tightness of the screws in this area first, if its loose you may need to remove a couple of the screws and replace with slightly longer or a thicker gauge if the hinge will accommodate the next size up.

or you could pack off the bottom hinge a bit to push the door up on the bottom.

question it the theshold fixed to a timber cill.
