Double dimmer wiring

Hi All

I have a double dimmer switch which is currently wired up for one of the dimmers to be turned off by a separate hall switch. I’d like to make it so I can turn off both dimmers with the same hall switch. Yellow(right) is the dimmer that is currently turned off by the hall switch. Black (left) is the one that needs changing. Thanks in advance.

Not sure what you want.

You will not be able to operate both dimmers with the one hall switch.

If you mean you want to install a second switch in the hall then extra wiring will probably be required.

SAfety first. the notice about earthing the front plate needs to adhered to.

As EFL says; I too don't yet understand your requirements.

The hall switch turns on the light controlled by yellow(right) dimmer, that dimmer can also switch that light also, two way switch. I’d like the hall switch to be able to switch the black dimmer which controlling another light both on and off also. But also allowing both the dimmer switches to control their different lights also. (Earth requirement noted)

Currently

hall switch turns on light controlled by yellow dimmer.

On the double dimmer the yellow dimmer can turn off or on the same light as hall switch.

black dimmer can turn off and on its light, but current is unlinked to hall switch


It would be like this

hall switched on = both lights on
hall switch off = both off

even if hall switch is off
Inside room yellow dimmer can turn its light on and off
Inside room black dimmer can turn its light on and off.
