Hi,
Thread title should read PVC window!
When replacing the gasket when fitting window, is it best to cut into four pieces and taper the ends or use 1 piece (as most window installers seem to do)?
When using 1 piece it does not appear to fit well into the corners. Obviously I would like to fit the best way to avoid water ingress. I'm not concerned how long it takes as I'm just replacing the old gasket in my own windows.

Thanks
Harry

Depends which type of gasket your using, is it wedge or firtree/clip in gasket or inside or outside?

Hi Crank39,
It's the Wedge type of Gaskets. The gaskets are outside.

I'd do,it in one piece then starting in the top corner so the joint is protected from water ingress. Cut the back of the gasket so it folds easier in the corners but cut an inch long so it makes the gasket too long, this will allow for future shrinkage, fit all corners into place the force the gasket in in the 4 sides
