Hi, when I use my thermal imaging camera on my double glazed windows it is cold at the edge of the glass. This tells me that the cold comes in round the glass unit between the spacers. The seals on the inside are good. Is there a product that goes in the 5mm around the glass unit or am I getting this wrong? Thanks for any help.

Can you post a picture of the IR image?

Take care when interpreting what you see with an IR camera.
Glass, especially modern glass with a low-e coating, is as reflective as a mirror to IR.
The colouring you see in the image, represents the temperature of the item in the reflection, rather than the temperature of the glass itself.
The difference you're noticing, may be down to the reflection of the cooler frame, or some slight condensation on the edge of the glass, rather than representing any cold bridging in the glass spacers - even though it's a possibility.

do you have warm edge spacer bar or aluminium spacer bar -that can make a difference

the 5mm air gap around a double glazed unit is a critical element -it allows and any water getting behind the bead to drain out, if that areas gets waterlogged, especially the bottom bead the DGU mastic seal will prematurely fail

Thanks for the image, can we have a picture in visible light to compare?
But as I said, you can clearly see the heat reflection in the glass.
And the difference between the dark purple and mauve is less than 2 degrees, probably 1C.
The dark lines could be the true temperature of the black rubber seal (that wouldn't reflect IR), rather than representing a cold bridge.

As Notch says, if you have aluminium ( generally shiny ) spacer bar then there is a potential for hear transference, hence most modern units use Black Warm arsge Spacer ( it's plastic ).
The gap around the sealed unit in upvc needs to be there for the reasons Notch states , and also thermal expansion. There is no filler within that gap.
I don't get into thermal imaging , and if the temp difference is 1c , as Randomgrinch says , then really it's negligable
