Dover. It's what we wanted.

I have heard the digi system is coming?

Yes, biometric checks like at airports. Will take the guesswork out of estimating length of stay in EU, but may poss make queues longer. Everyone will have to get out of their vehicles and go to a booth to be scanned. Imagine how long a coach full of Darby and Joans will take to achieve this. Think they've been put back to end of year.

I think it’s obvious to any fool that extra checks will take extra time. As said, poor management and 2015? Absolutely sod all to do with Brexit.
Always very quick to try and prove that problems are not down to Brexit. But we all know this is a direct result of it.

But why not so quick to present the benefits ? There are some, I hope

No, silly, the grockles would have their implanted eurochips scanned as they enter the charananc, and details downloaded to the europad. Or a Kepi bearing functionary might enter the vehicle for the purpose.

You sound like that lying idiot Johnson. "Don't worry, a technical solution will be found."

It wasn't.

Course it was. Same bally thing. Mark them up, then Red channel, Green channel. Stuff and nonsense over nothing, just Johnny Foreigner being grouchy. Easy as the congestion zone.

It is not a question of whether brexit is to blame for additional border checks, its the fact that each and every vote for brexhit was a vote for a hard border.

Blup

I thought grockles were indiginous to Cornwall; why would they need a biometric check?

wasn't that predicted before Brexit? It definitely was before we decided to leave the common market (and so lost freedom of movement).

Back to normal now. As said, a temporary blip that happens every year. It'll probably happen again the day before Easter, the start of the six weeks holiday, October half-term, Christmas. Always geared around school term times. They are called 'Peak' seasons for a reason! Just sheer capacity of numbers. Fine for 350 days of the year. Just like the snow argument - should we have millions of pounds of staff and equipment on standby all over the country for 365 days of the year for the ten days or so that we seem to be immobilised by snow? Imagine the screams from the remainers on here if they did that: "Waste of money", "Government lining the pockets of their friends" Etc. Etc.

After running extra ferries and paying for extra staff to deal with the workload you'd think the Port Authority would see this coming every year and prepare for the extra traffic...and yet. No. They don't.

That the current government is incompetent isn't really a shock. As for staff and kit, for these events you plan leave schedules, there's no need for special kit to check passport expiry dates and assign four officers per bus.

Brexit has made this worse and harder. Nothing more or less. It's a shame you seem to be unable to accept that it has any impact.

nonsense from a brexer not understanding the Single Market
