Hi,

Just a quick one, just after a bit of advice on the number and positioning of lights in my ensuite.

Please see the attached rough diagram with positioning, I was thinking maybe 2. Would people recommend 1 directly over the shower and one in the middle of the right-hand side of the room?

Any advice welcome.

Many thanks in advance

Height of ceiling and type of down light is the important bit, I have one single bulb which is ample, in general I don't like down lights, however there can be exceptions DSC_6799.jpg I have 5 at top of my stairs, and they seem to work well. But it all depends on what there is to reflect the light, shinning on a dark floor is not good.

thanks flameport.

4, don’t you think it might be too much for such a small space. I had thought maybe three?

Many thanks

One factor to consider is whether you are having a chunky wall-mounted shower rose, like people have now.

You don't want a light directly above that.

Depends on what downlights are used, but common versions about 5 watts are around 400 lumens.

2 would be 800 lumens, assuming all the light reaches the floor plane (it won't) that's only around 250 lux, which is rather dim for any room.

Dimly lit bathrooms are useless.

I'd have an illuminated mirror with a demister above the sink then two or three will be enough.

Thanks all

Thinking maybe 3 with the mirror, positioned as attached?

Appreciate all the advice

In our small ensuite we have 2 7w downlights but only use one as having both lights on is far too bright.
