Hi Guys,

I have a Ryobi one+ battery drill, i was drilling a 60mm hold in 18mm marine ply and it was going okay got all the way through, then suddenly when i was undoing the chuck it stopped going forward. However when you slipped it in reverse, it worked fine.??

However after 20 minutes it sprang back into life, then stopped, then 5 mins later was fine again.

I was thinking it was some sort of thermal cutout, but that would have surely stopped it going in reverse as well???

do people know if there are seperate forward and reverse thermal cutsouts.

Cheers

sounds like you have a silver lithium ion [li-ion]battery they do that when flat

Hi,

i do have a li-ion battery, but the light on the front was orange, which kind of means half charge. Plus i wouldnt have thought that would explain the ability of it to reverse and not go forward, which is a littler weird.
