Hello,
In attempting to drill through a cavity wall i appear to have hit the steel lintel. I have managed to find another route through which avoids the lintel altogether, but should the existing hole (which hit the lintel) be plugged with anything to prevent corrosion on the lintel in the longer term? The wall is a cavity wall and is 'indoors' on both sides. The lintel is above a door going from the main house to the attached external garage. Will silicon be ok for this? Thanks.
