Drive shaft flexible coupling mot fail

J&R driveshafts are cheap and very well made.
I run my Passat on them for her last 5 years without any problem.
£50 each if I remember correctly.

I paid £30 for a good quality CV boot kit for my mates Transit. For the first time ever, I couldn’t get the joint off. I ended up buying a new shaft, complete, for £82!

You need to find a local small garage that values return custom and that you trust. I rarely use a mechanic but my local family run business gets my custom and recommendation if I need an mot or a job I don't fancy doing.

Not sure if this will be any use -

Poss better than a stab in the dark.
No guarantee of quality. We used to belong to them. Paid monthly subscription and purchase (forté) products and consumables from them. I still have about 30 pairs of unused, branded overalls from them. Never had any complaints by customers so I don’t know how strict they are with any complaints.

Yes, didn't really know how good they will be. Maybe it's like Checkatrade type setups. The tradesmen pay them, so they are more likely to be for the tradesmen rather than customers. I could be wrong.

Are you sure you wanted those two sentences together? Doesn't sound too good. ;)
I can’t see any problem with that. As I said, we never had any complaints so I don’t know how good they were with resolving them if anyone had complained. I’m sure some people must have complained so, as I said, there’s no guarantee of quality. No different from Gas safe in that respect or does being a member of gas safe guarantee a quality job?
