I've just reinstalled XP on my daughters computer for a fresh start. Its all worked but the display is all fuzzy colours and I am guessing I need to do something with the driver.

Can anyone help please?

What size monitor and what res are you using at the mo?
What graphics card do you have? Or is it onboard? If so, then the driver should be on the motherboard disk.

Open Device Manager by going Start -> Run -> type devmgmt.msc in the box -> OK.

Click on the + sign next to Display adapters.

Double click the graphics card.

If it says it is NOT working properly click ‘Troubleshoot’. See if that fixes it.

If not, or if it says it is working properly, click the Drivers Tab, click update driver.

That's a problem mate.
A 17" tft should have a native resolution of at least 1024x768. Most monitors look rank if they are set to anything other that its native resolution. If you cannot set it any higher then it is a driver issue.

You still want to be looking for graphics card drivers. Find out what card you have and go to either AMD or NVIDIA's websites and download relevent drivers.
If, as i suspect its onboard, then you should have drivers on the motherboard disk.If you do not have a disk then download cpuz http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php, (download button top left of webpage) install it, run and make a note of the 'mainboard' then go to the relevent website and download the drivers for it.
Let us know how you get on. :)

Kjacko the link is not working. :(

I have a Dell cd that says monitor drivers but cannot seem to find the driver to use.

You need the driver for the video adapter rather than the monitor.

Take the comma off the end of the link to cpuz and it will work. That utility can identify pretty much all your hardware.

I remembered I had the original discs from Dell and after some trial and error it is now done.

Thanks fellas for your help. :D
