I’m sure that’s happened to most new drone owners before.

Yes, sometimes just increasing height a bit will allow you to see the drone against the plain background of the sky.

Just ordered a strobe for it tonight. As said, may make it easier to see in the day and I might do a bit of night flying.

Invest in a bumper pack of blades etc.
Take several with you when you go on holiday with it.

Fun, I wish I had one.
I got a helicopter many years ago, took it to the park - took off went 6' then crashed.
Put it in the eaves and gave up.
