Duraflex frames have intrusive weld in the corners

Quote ”the supplier did show me that it can be sanded out somewhat and he used a blue fluid as well, but he said it wasn't done these days due to H+S.”

Knifing the weld off takes seconds. Polishing the weld out takes about 10 mins per weld. More like saving time and money than H+S. I've spent hour's sanding scratches and the odd missed weld. The reason they don’t polish a reverse butt weld is because it’s hard to sand the weld away without a concave affect. All other welds are machine grooved.

Thanks fillapoly and crank
Whatever he used, he gave it to me in case I wanted to try it at home! It didn't dissolve when I saw him using it and it was in a retail blister pack so must be different to what you are referring to..I hope. It's called DQS scratch eliminator.

If Tcut can be used, much better, I got loads. I did read though NEVER to use abrasive substances on uPVC?

Once I'm finished fitting, what's the best thing to give the whole job a clean up as it is rather grubby from brick dust and having my silicon plastered hands all over it - car polish or soapy water?

cheers
