Earthing cables

I have just removed an old cast iron bath and replaced it with an acrylic one, I know, I know should have kept the well built one. Anyway it had earthing cables attached to both the hot and cold pipes. I have replaced all the pipework with speedfit plastic. this means that the only metal is the taps, Do I need to reconnect the earthing able to the taps? Probably as simple as a yes or no answer.

don't know if this makes any difference but there is an electric shower above the bath.
