Somewhat more than the PVC if it was the glassfibre tape they used to use...I thought homslaw might be old enough to remember when that was done as I'm just a young'un
Yep - I was taught that the tape had to be heat resistant although it does seem a bit pointless re-insulating the lug when you have all that exposed copper in there anyway. It just comes down to good practice making the termination look neater.
the one in the photo looks a nice size though, ie compact. all the ones Ive seen so far seem rather large in comparison. Thanks for the googly link Flumeport, Although if you dont actually have the answer, you shouldnt be the one replying to the question.
