Ebay - Tyre fitting

I'm soon due some new tyres, so I have been looking at various sources - just popping in a local tyre dealers, and at ebay. Obviously, by from a local place and fitting/balancing is included, but if I order on ebay what is the process? Is fitting included, do they deliver to me, and I then take them to and pay a tyre fitter? How far might I have to drive to get to one of their free fitters, if it is free?

I seem not to be able to find out what happens, without first ordering and paying for a tyre, on ebay.

I bought some tyres for my tractor last year on ebay, but they were delivered to my address, and as I sort of expected, I had to fit them. I don't fancy, trying that, with my car tyres.

From my experience on eBay it's either free delivery or free fitting if you go to them - but if not clear just message them. I've never found online supply and fit (tyres on the drive type) particularly cheap but probably because where I live the market is pretty competitive. Round here the going rate to fit and balance customers tyre is £10. Camskill is often good for trailer/caravan tyres but I don't know about cars.

just had to have a pair fitted for the MOT - at the car main dealers - they were cheaper than the usual tyre place I go to... for the same tyres.

When I needed a set of all seasons for my winter Czech trip couple of years ago I used Black Circles. The prices were good. You pay for the tyres online and they are sent to a tyre centre of your choosing that's registered with them, then you turn up at the appointed time for fitting. Was very happy with the service.

I did the same last year with Asda tyres.
The price was good, the fitter was just down the road, and I got about £40 back in Asda vouchers.

I have been getting my tyres at a small local firm for years. Very pleased with their work and service.

A while ago, I got a quote from Black Circles. The local firm was one of their fitting agents. I asked the proprietor if he could match their prices, and he said he would prefer me to order from Black Circles and have the local firm fit them (Black Circles pay them for fitting).

He would make more profit on that than he would matching their price.

So I do that now. I would be suspicious of a mobile fitter I knew nothing about.

Check with the vendors the DOT date of manufacture for the new tyres they will be supplying.

I needed 4x Michelin Primacy last November and the online version of Just Tyres kept sending their local fitting centre 2 years+ old stock mixed in with a couple of new ones from their tyre suppliers.
Eventually got all 4 with a recent date and had them fitted. Then the fitter forgot to put dust caps on all bar one tyre. I won't use JT again (tho I did get money back via Topcashback and a Michelin offer making them significantly cheaper than Black Circles et al).

I'd not use a random seller off eBay or Amazon Marketplace etc.,. for such stuff, myself.

Many cheap online tyres are a few years old already. Decent companies that sell the same tyre at different prices give you the date of manufacture.

Pay a little extra and Asda will fit on your drive, ive recently used them and the fitter was very good.

Local fitter then wants £20-a-corner for fitting, balancing and disposal of the old tyre, so they have to be at least £20-a-corner cheaper than I can get them from a one-stop-shop.

The online sites seem to be very confused, it's not obvious at all whether fitting is included or not....

Camskill seem to be separately charging for delivery, but they seem not to mention fitting at all. Are you saying fitting is included in the price you pay at checkout?
